The History of Luntley Court Luntley Court is a Jacobean house, which was built between 1603 – 1625. The house was originally two storeys which probably consisted of a main block with cross wings at the south east and North West ends of the house. In 1674 the house was altered and enlarged. |

The downstairs rooms consisted as follows: Library – now the games room Drawing room – now sitting room Dining room – now passage way and part of sitting room Store room – now dining room Kitchen – same Scullery – now utility room Pantry – now boiler room There are five families known to have lived in the house these families were:
In 1932 a survey was commissioned on the house, at this time a conservatory was attached to the house on the right hand side of the porch. Also there was a framed garden house at the rear of the main house – sadly both have now been destroyed. The drive was situated near the side door of the house, also by the door there once was a wash house. Photographs were taken in 1914 that show the court yard having a major face lift. Cow house and loft – still remains to the east of the house
Hay barn – still remaining further east of what was the cow house
Barn – still remaining west of the house now a barn conversion
Garden house – which has now been demolished and was situated at the rear of the house. Pigeon House - still remaing situated across the road from the main house.
The pigeon House (dovecot) The pigeon house is a square building of about 11 ½ ft by 11 ½ ft with a date of 1673 carved on the lintel. The pigeon house was restored in 1929 by the Burlton family and also in 1972 and 1988 by the English heritage |
